Steak and Cheese Sandwich Recipe
Prep Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 20 mins
Ingredients for Steak and Cheese Sandwich Recipe
1 red or green pepper, de-seeded and sliced
1 onion, sliced
1 tbsp oil
2 Ciabatta Bread
4 slices of Swiss Cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
Firstly, heat a frying pan and add the butter and oil and wait till the butter has melted and it is hot.
Next, add the sliced onions and red pepper and cook until soft (about 5 mins) and then remove and leave to one side until you are ready to serve.
When you are ready to serve, remove the steak from the refridgerator, allow to get to room temperature and then season with salt and pepper.
Next, heat a frying or griddle pan and spray with oil.
Once the pan is hot, cook the steak to your liking and then remove and allow to rest.
Add the onion and red peper mixture to the hot pan and heat through without burning.
While the steak is resting, cut the ciabatta bread in half and toast lightly under a grill.
Once the ciabatta bread has slightly toasted, place the cheese on one side of the bread and place back under the grill until warm and just starting to melt.
Finely slice the steak and mix with the resting juices.
Now, build the sandwich by placing the steak on the bottom half of the bread and then place the onion and pepper mixture on top and then closing the warm melting cheese half on top.
Push down and cut in half and then enjoy with french fries.
