Homemade Beef Burgers Recipe

Homemade Beef Burgers Recipe

Ingredients for Homemade Beef Burgers Recipe

1kg good quality minced beef
1 red onion, grated
2 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 egg
1 tsp mustard powder
A handful of flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
Worcester sauce
2 red chillies, deseed and finely chop (optional if you like a bit of a spicy kick)
1 slice of bread made into breadcrumbs


Grate the red onion and chop the parsley (and chillies if you are using them).
Put all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and combine with your hands until combined.
Using wet hands, separate the mixture into about 10 portions (about 140g each to give you an idea). I do weigh these myself!
Form each of the portions into a patty with your wet hands and then stacking on a greaseproof paper-lined baking tray, separating each patty with a piece of greaseproof paper.
Allow to rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

When you are ready to serve, remove the patties from the refrigerator and heat a grill, griddle pan or BBQ to medium heat.
Cook the burgers to your liking and serve with burger buns and the choice of your toppings which may include: cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, etc.
